Trying to only make a small, tiny, baby footprint....
Our goal when starting the Golden Kind was to make it as sustainable, ethical and as kind to the planet as we could. From working in surf fashion we knew that words can often be used as marketing dribble and we want our words to be meaningful. Whilst we are still learning and working towards an Eco-Friendly future for TGK we can promise you that we are making every effort to run this business with the smallest footprint possible and are continuing to search for ways to leave the smallest environmental impact possible. Below is a break down of some of the ways in which we are trying to hug the planet.

- Marketing
We have used recycled materials such as paper and card stock where we can in our swing tags and marketing materials. We know these may be small touches but if we all do what we can in many little ways, differences will be made and we will live on a much happier planet.

- Packaging
Our packaging is plastic free, each order is sent in a reusable organic cotton drawstring pouch. You can use this pouch to store treats, keep cups, or whatever tickles your fancy.
Each delivery is sent in 100% compostable and biodegradable bags and we encourage them to be reused or home composted.
Our clothing orders do not come individually wrapped in plastic bags and very limited plastic is used in the original shipment we receive from our factory.

- Printing
We use eco friendly dyes which are free from nasties and do not produce chemicals that pollute the environment or harm our workers.
The Golden Kind garments are then screen printed or digitally printed by hand using non toxic, chemical free, water based inks.

- Our Fabric - Organic Bamboo
Tanboocel is a brand of bamboo fibre, it is a regenerated cellulose fibre which is made from natural organic bamboo by a high tech process that is non-polluting to the environment during production.
Our bamboo fibre has passed OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 (which means it is chemical and toxin free).
The bamboo we use and process is certified by OCIA (Organic Crops Improvement Association International) which certifies that the bamboo we use is organic bamboo under “wild crops” and certified organic under “organic farms.”
Bamboo as a plant is a natural resource and does not need chemicals or pesticides to grow. It grows so rapidly and generates naturally so when it is harvested the plant still survives.
Tanboocel is also antibacterial and bacteriostatic, smooth, soft and cool to wear.
The high quality Cotton
Cotton is a natural, breathable fibre that can biodegrade at the end of its life.
