About The Golden Kind

The Golden Kind is inspired by the surf lifestyle and an old school type of life. Back when things were simple and your mum used to wrap your lunch in brown paper, you rode your bike to the beach and locking it up wasn't even a thing and you watched only 30 mins of TV a night (The Brady Bunch or Mash).

Our swaddles are created with love from the very start of the design process. Our first collection was hand painted by a fire with cups of tea in our hands while warm sunlight streamed in through the windows onto our paint pallets; sounds romantic huh?

Our first collection “Oh Hello SUNSHINE”  is inspired by all things that make us happy; rainbows, flowers, the ocean, vintage colour pallets, art, music, ice cream.

Why have we started with swaddles? Well, we had no idea how much you needed them until we became mums! Also, new mum life taught us that there were not many on trend, good quality, environmentally produced and affordable swaddle options out there.

 

  

 About the Founder

Hayley was born in Coffs Harbour and moved to Sydney when she was in her late teens where she finished school. She represented Australia at an international level in both white water canoeing and triathlons. Her love of surfing eventually took over and she decided to settle down on the Sydney's Northern Beaches. She worked as a marketing manager for a leading women's surf company, and loved her career. After Hayley's first baby Asher was born, a family decision was made to move back north where life's pace was quieter and they could have a backyard. Hayley now loves living the quiet life with her little family on the Mid North Coast of NSW where she spends lots of time in that backyard, surfing and playing with her family in the ocean.
